Valdemar - Theater - Music - Movement
Following two projects carried out in this area—*Vaga* (2024) and *Varela* (2025)—*Valdemar* stems from a desire to deepen the relationship that has developed over time between artists and residents, exploring the village as a living territory, a space of memory, encounter, and transformation. If *Vaga* was a first encounter with the sea and its practices, and *Varela* a deep dive into the land, the homes, and the intimacy of the village, *Valdemar* emerges as a new movement within this balance between sea and land. The works created at Azenha do Mar have followed the rhythm of the tides: they reach out toward the outside, return to the interior, and once again open up to the ocean. “Valdemar” offers a time for presence, listening, and co-creation, in which art is built from the lives, gestures, and stories of those who inhabit this unique place on the coast of Odemira. At the next “Criar às Sextas” event, we’ll feature the “Concerto Performance duo alèm,” presented by the Terra Batida Association, which will bring sounds from around the world—characteristic of this traveling duo—to the streets. Blending the harmony of the accordion with the melody of the trumpet, Nuno Salvado and Nuno Reis present music for dancing and dreaming. From African rhythms to Balkan energy, from jazzy reverie to bossa nova tunes, the duo “Além” appeals to a diverse audience. Whether at a window, on a balcony, or on a terrace, residents, passersby, and visitors will be immediately drawn in by the captivating energy of the music or the sweet, melancholic melody of this virtuoso duo. The performance will culminate at Espaço Criar starting at 6:00 p.m. and combines this musical show with a creative workshop by Mirabolante, Livros e Ideias, and local snacks.

Flamenco Show The Barcelona Flamenco Ballet has established itself as an international flamenco company (music and dance) by establishing itself as a symbolic benchmark within Catalan art and by serving as a point of reference for musicians who wish to specialize in dance accompaniment. In short, this group, founded in 2017, has become the heart of flamenco in Catalonia. Luso 7sóis-26 (Cape Verde, La Réunion, Italy, Morocco, Portugal) Concert presented with the support of DG Artes This original production by the sssl Festival features six renowned artists from a wide variety of musical cultures rooted in the countries of the Sete Só. The diverse spirits of the Mediterranean and the Portuguese-speaking world come together in this orchestra: artists from La Réunion, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, and Cape Verde. The repertoire of Luso 7Sóis-26 blends traditional songs, original compositions, and new arrangements from these various countries.
