2nd Alentejo Coast Portuguese Pool Open
Juventude Atlético Clube and gdct Repsol Polímeros, through their billiards divisions, will host the 2nd Alentejo Coast Portuguese Pool Open on September 4, 5, and 6, 2026, in Santiago do Cacém, a tournament sanctioned by the Portuguese Billiards Federation. The event will take place simultaneously in the two halls of the organizing clubs, featuring a total of 7 Space Pro tables, with 64 athletes participating from various regions of the country. This Open coincides with the 2026 Feira do Monte, providing an excellent opportunity to promote Santiago do Cacém to dozens of visitors who will be staying in the municipality over the weekend, thereby boosting the restaurant industry, local retail, and lodging establishments. As in the previous edition, the tournament aims to welcome players from various parts of the country, including leading figures in the sport, district champions, national champions, and other prominent names in Portuguese pool. By bringing together athletes from various districts across the country, the tournament helps promote Santiago do Cacém as a tourist and sports destination and raises the municipality’s profile among visitors from different regions. Few people know that Alvalade was once home to the Hospital do Espírito Santo, an institution founded between the 14th and 15th centuries to welcome the sick, pilgrims, merchants, and travelers. There they found shelter, food, and, in case of illness, the support of physicians, surgeons, and priests, who sought to treat the body and comfort the spirit. Inspired by this historical legacy, the 2026 edition will bring to life medieval medical practices, herbal knowledge, apothecaries, barber-surgeons, healers, pilgrims, and the stories of hope that shaped the lives of the communities of that time.

That same year, they performed the song “Choro no Fado” for the public, winning second place at the Song Festival. From that special moment came the self-titled album, followed by concerts that brought their sound to various stages. Over the years, each pursued their own artistic path, enriching their careers with individual projects and collaborations with major names in music. But some connections are never lost. More than two decades later, the three artists are reuniting for a special concert, revisiting the songs that brought them together and celebrating the musical journeys each has built over the years. Pranayama Class
This 30-minute pranayama class is designed to support both beginners and more advanced practitioners, offering clear guidance alongside deeper refinement of breath awareness and control. If the group is small enough, the session may also include individual pulse taking to help tailor the practice to each participant’s needs. I have been practicing pranayama for 27 years under the guidance of Sri O. P. Tiwari, the head of the Pranayama Institute in India, who is widely respected for preserving and teaching traditional yogic breathing techniques with precision and depth. The class is free for yoga members and €7 for non-members.
