🎶 Cape Verdean music returns to Pátio das Artes next Thursday, August 6, at 9:30 p.m., with a concert by Judepina, as part of the AoCAS program—Pátio das Artes Thursday Entertainment. A native of São Domingos on the island of Santiago (Cape Verde), Judepina grew up in a family of musicians and developed a passion for music at an early age. Based in Portugal since 2003, she has built a career marked by the fusion of traditional Cape Verdean sounds with other musical influences. In 2021, she released her debut album, “Pé na Txon,” a work that brings together rhythms such as coladeira, funaná, batuque, and soukous, inspired by the daily life and identity of the Cape Verdean people. The Sarau Cabo Verde is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Sines, through the Municipal Library / Sines Arts Center, and the Cape Verdean Association of Sines and Santiago do Cacém, as part of the (a) Cultura-te – Interculturality in the City project. 📍 Pátio das Artes 🗓️ August 6 🕤 9:30 p.m. 🎟️ Free admission

Pátio das Artes | 10:00 p.m. | Free admission Also known as gmo, this orchestra was founded in 2001 based on an idea by conductor Alberto Lanza, with the goal of providing young, talented musicians the opportunity to experience ensemble music for the first time, combining wind instruments, strings, percussion, and digital instruments. During its tour of Portugal, the orchestra will present its new repertoire, “Musica senza confini” (Music Without Borders), a musical journey from Japan to Hungary, from Greece to Mexico, from the Middle East to Africa, to show that music is the only language that can be understood without study and that it can break down barriers of hatred and indifference.

🎉 International Youth Day | August 12 The Municipality of Sines is celebrating International Youth Day with a diverse program of sports, recreational, and musical activities, taking place along Vasco da Gama Avenue and at Sines Castle. Throughout the day, Vasco da Gama Avenue will host activities as part of the “Sines in Motion” program, which will run all day long. The program also includes the Buggy Experience, an inflatable water attraction, archaeological snorkeling, skating lessons, and a sunset party featuring DJ Miguel Angelo. 🎵 Soraia Ramos, Rushkaya, and Umafricana are performing in Sines Sines is once again hosting a music festival in the heart of August, with this year’s lineup highlighting dance music and new Lusophone music with African roots. This edition of Música em Agosto, held entirely at the Castle, begins at midnight on the 14th (Friday) with a set by Rushkaya, a versatile Portuguese DJ and producer in the contemporary dance music scene. The concert by Portuguese-Cape Verdean artist Soraia Ramos kicks off the program on Saturday, the 15th, at 10:00 p.m. With millions of views on YouTube and huge success on digital platforms, Soraia brings a modern twist to the music of her cultural roots. Following Soraia Ramos’s concert at midnight, Umafricana takes the stage. This Portuguese-Guinean DJ fuses the new rhythms of the African continent with influences from pop, R&B, and Latin-rooted music. Admission is free.
