As they sail, they arrive at different places and times where they meet others who, like them, have been expelled from the “realm of the righteous.” But, curiously, these people don’t accept them either… Finally, they find a place where they can live in peace. Because despite the difficulties, there’s always a place for everyone in this world—you just have to look for it!” The show features live music.

It focuses on what repetition renders unpredictable: constant adaptation, demanded efficiency, continuity as the norm. Through simple systems that organize the collective, the performance exposes the moment when functionality ceases to hide the effort that sustains it. What seemed natural reveals friction, wear, and tension. Without resorting to narrative, strata makes visible the silent pressure that permeates daily life—a normality sustained by a constant demand for productivity, which persists because it is not questioned. Its effect is the normalization of wear and tear, of forced adaptation, and of the impossibility of stopping. On a night of work, a group of journalists attempts to write an article on the theme “Fado and Democracy.” As they revisit notable authors linked to the April 25 Revolution through their works, they inevitably come across the name Ary dos Santos. Directed and written by Jorge Gomes Ribeiro, this performance invites the audience to reflect on memory, freedom, and the power of words. “Inside, it’s always April”
🌹 On April 25, Teatro do Mar presents “Inside, It’s Always April,” a traveling performance installation that invites audiences to an intimate listening experience in the heart of a public space. Inside small boxes, each person is invited to enter, sit down, and, alone with a performer, share the listening experience of a poem. Drawing on the distinctive voices of Portuguese poetry, this project evokes the ideals of April—freedom, dignity, and responsibility—as something alive, present, and constantly evolving, connecting the intimate with the collective. In the morning, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the event takes place outside the Sines Arts Center. In the afternoon, between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, the event begins at the Jardim das Descobertas, then proceeds to Rua Serpa Pinto, following a route that traverses the city and its encounters.

Here, music is highlighted as a universal language capable of breaking down barriers and uniting generations and cultures. The goal is to provide a unique moment in a place where so many other places full of music, movement, colors, shadows, silences, and sounds coexist, with room for improvisation in a musical dialogue between musicians, children, and family members. 3:00 p.m.: Workshop by Pedra Papel Parents, caregivers, and babies After the show "Nana no Mundo," this workshop invites parents, caregivers, and babies to explore music as a language of affection, discovery, and connection. Using traditional songs from different countries, participants experiment with their voices, bodies, and small sound objects, learning simple and natural ways to integrate music into early childhood.
