“Symbiotic Noise” is a living, constantly evolving installation that intertwines bioacoustics, artificial intelligence, and local narratives to foster a dialogue between human and non-human networks in São Luís and Odemira. This project transforms the region’s natural materials and microbial ecosystems into a hybrid sonic-biomechanical organism. The work manifests as a responsive environment where music generated from real-time data interacts with a bioengineered “mycelial network,” sculpted from local organic materials.

Data is captured via silver electrodes and original software developed by the artist, which amplifies signals from fungi and hallucinogenic mushrooms, converting them into audible and visible bands. The installation thus becomes a magical performance and concert.

Robert B. Lisek is an artist, mathematician, and composer who explores the intersections between systems, networks, and processes—computational, biological, and social. His artistic work investigates themes such as artificial intelligence, bioengineering, information theory, and quantum physics, incorporating elements such as computer code, algorithms, artificial neural networks, and genetic sequences to explore the relationship between randomness and order.

He is also a composer of contemporary music, the author of numerous projects and scores at the intersection of spectral, stochastic, concrete, and noise music. He is the founder of the Fundamental Research Lab. His contributions include over 300 exhibitions and concerts, including: “GOLEM” at the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe; “SIBYL” at IRCAM, the Centre Pompidou, and MAXXI – National Museum of 21st Century Arts; “APEIRON” at Ars Electronica; “QUANTUM ENIGMA” at the Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center and STEIM; “TERROR ENGINES” at WORM; and “DEMONS” at the Venice Biennale.

    Rebirthing breathwork

✨ rebirthing breathwork ✨ After a long summer break, I’m so happy to be opening the doors again and reconnecting with our breathwork community at Lazuz, in Lameiros. ❤️ 🌿 Monday, 21st September 10:30am – approx. 1pm 📍 Lazuz, Lameiros This session is an invitation to pause, breathe, and come back home to yourself. Maybe your summer has involved a lot of working, caretaking, travelling, or tending to other people’s needs. Maybe you’re ready to recharge your batteries, reconnect with your own needs and desires, or simply create some space to listen inward. Through the power of your own breath, we can begin to release what has become stuck, reconnect with the body, support a more regulated nervous system and open space for whatever is ready to be felt, explored or released. Breathwork can be a profound journey of coming back to yourself, reconnecting with your heart, your aliveness, your pleasure, your health, your direction and your deeper sense of purpose. Your breath knows where to take you. The session is held in a safe, supportive and trauma-informed container, with space to explore at your own pace. Group places are limited. 💛 Sliding-scale contribution: €15 - supported / low income €30 - regular €45 - supporting To join: 🌐 www.premajulia.com 📩 Or simply send Prem a private message. If you have any questions or would like to check whether breathwork is suitable for you, especially if you have any physical or mental health considerations, please feel free to reach out. I’m so looking forward to breathing, exploring and reconnecting with you again. ❤️ Only love, Prema
