World Food Day,
Let's go from local to global with desires, dreams and practices that contribute to a world where those who produce, taking care of the common good, can live with dignity, live well... and that food is tasty, nutritious and available to those who seek it!
André Vizinho and Jorge Gonçalves show the results of the first phase of data collection, the result of this initial phase of SAL Odemira (Local Food System). Visit the website at https://www.salodemira.pt
At 7pm, director Sara de Sousa Correia presents the film "A Veia Verde: West Africa's agro-ecological renaissance".
Synopsis of the documentary: "For centuries, the great empires of West Africa were nourished by rivers like the Volta or the Niger - their blue veins.
Today, after centuries of colonization, food resilience on the banks of these rivers is more fragile than ever, with endogenous culture being lost to an increasingly urban and violently industrialized transitional society.
Farmers poisoned by pesticides are a constant in Burkina Faso, triggering the search for alternatives that are sought by partnerships between scientists and peasants.
Nigeria tells us how far this boat can sink through the voice of Dr. Beatrice, but it is on the edge of Niger, in Mali, that we find a first answer. "My first contact with agriculture was through the internet," says Ousmane, a former footballer who has swapped soccer pitches for other fields. "This is the moment of the African Renaissance," argues Godfrey Namudjo, founder of Songhai, an agro-ecological training center with a global reputation. Students and researchers are seeking to valorize endogenous culture and recover local food sovereignty. On the urban outskirts, children are learning to plant. Members of the Rastafarian community devotionally feel the call to care for the health of the land and people. A stream of consciousness, ideas and initiatives flows and grows across West Africa like a powerful green vein fertilizing the earth."
At the end of the time we will have time for a chat with the director.
Dinner will be available, with vegetarian and animal protein options.

✨ rebirthing breathwork ✨ After a long summer break, I’m so happy to be opening the doors again and reconnecting with our breathwork community at Lazuz, in Lameiros. ❤️ 🌿 Monday, 21st September 10:30am – approx. 1pm 📍 Lazuz, Lameiros This session is an invitation to pause, breathe, and come back home to yourself. Maybe your summer has involved a lot of working, caretaking, travelling, or tending to other people’s needs. Maybe you’re ready to recharge your batteries, reconnect with your own needs and desires, or simply create some space to listen inward. Through the power of your own breath, we can begin to release what has become stuck, reconnect with the body, support a more regulated nervous system and open space for whatever is ready to be felt, explored or released. Breathwork can be a profound journey of coming back to yourself, reconnecting with your heart, your aliveness, your pleasure, your health, your direction and your deeper sense of purpose. Your breath knows where to take you. The session is held in a safe, supportive and trauma-informed container, with space to explore at your own pace. Group places are limited. 💛 Sliding-scale contribution: €15 - supported / low income €30 - regular €45 - supporting To join: 🌐 www.premajulia.com 📩 Or simply send Prem a private message. If you have any questions or would like to check whether breathwork is suitable for you, especially if you have any physical or mental health considerations, please feel free to reach out. I’m so looking forward to breathing, exploring and reconnecting with you again. ❤️ Only love, Prema
