Azula Family,

The season just flew by in a flash but this coming Sunday we intend to co-create the last Azula of the year.

So come and warm your bones and spirit on the community fire once more before the season turns again and leave space in your mind for some more amazing memories.

We will gather from 12:00 this Sunday and as usual there is a great abundance of incredible, unique vendors and artisans, from herbal medicine, artwork, trendy alternative clothing lines, handmade barefoot shoes, to Ethiopian tahini and sea water toothpaste & ferments.

Ofcourse tasty food and drinks will be served all day, from kombucha, and chai to home-baked cakes and fresh delicacies from the kitchen and grill.

The therapy & healing space is at your service aswell so be welcome to try an Ayurvedic or holistic deep-tissue massage and align your chakras.

The program looks like this (with possible suprise acts and artistic detours):

• Open Mic: Got something to play, sing, contribute or say? Bring it on from 14-16h and take the spotlight and glory that comes with it.

• Lucky Melodies: These local celebrities humbly bring their talents to the table with guitar, harminoca and angelic voices. Grab the chance to be front row in this personal setting and be one of the people that can tell their friends: “i saw them Live @ Azula one time many summers ago”.

• Kali Fawaz (odx):

a journey through Brazil, Africa and Arabic music, mixed live by Kali Fawaz.

• Amrit (AmoreirasFEST) : This local legend brings a deep blend of driving house, hypnotic tech and psychedelic textures, unfolding through darker, luminous & expansive territory.

And more

Don't miss the opportunity to join forces and build this great gathering together.

See you all in the valley on Sunday!

Much love, The Azula Team

    Floor Chor Alentejo

Be part of a new choir in ALENTEJO! ⠀ Imagine a choir combining festival vibes, parties and electronic music, performing right on the dance floor. ⠀ The body isn’t fully singing until the voice joins in. Floor Chor wants to encourage you to free your voice, not think too much about how it sounds, but really focus on how it feels. ⠀ This October, we’re planting the first seeds of Floor Chor Alentejo. ⠀ We will have 5 rehearsals where we sing, dance, improvise and build a repertoire together. Afterwards, we’ll throw a party, invite our friends and perform what we have learned. ⠀ But the vision goes beyond these first rehearsals. We want to keep coming together for intensive choir weeks and retreats, deepen our repertoire, build a community and then take the choir to parties, festivals and Burns around Portugal. Flamingo, Goat Festival... anything is possible. ⠀ And this isn’t completely new. Floor Chor started in Cologne, Germany, where we are now around 100 singers and have performed at festivals and clubs across Germany. If you’re curious what that looks like, check us out on Instagram: ⠀ https://www.instagram.com/floorchor/?hl=de ⠀ The bigger vision is to grow one Floor Chor community that reaches beyond borders. Maybe soon you’ll come to Germany and perform with the Cologne Floor Chor at a club or festival, and singers from Cologne will come to Portugal and sing with you. We all know the same repertoire, so wherever we meet, we can sing together. ⠀ This October is where it starts. ❤️ ⠀ 🎶 5 Rehearsals · 11.–17. October Join one, several or all five. 5–15 € per session · 25–75 € for all 5 If money is an issue, please join anyway. 🫶 ⠀ ✨ 17.10. · Party + Floor Chor performance ⠀ 📍 Location Lazuz near Odemira ⠀ Join the Telegram group to get the location and latest information: ⠀ https://t.me/+GOfca4uG960xNDVi ⠀ All voices welcome. No experience needed. ⠀ FACILITATION ⠀ Hi, I’m Max, and my soul vibrates when people come together and sing. It has been my passion and honour to conduct choirs for the past 15 years. Today, i lead four choirs with around 250 singers in Cologne. There is something about the combination of community, music and the sound of voices coming together in harmony that really touches me. i come into flow when i do it. ⠀ An important part of my rehearsals is body awareness, exploring the flexibility of our voices, but also self acceptance. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about enjoying the process, being curious about what our voices can do and experiencing the bliss of hearing what we can create together. ⠀ I truly believe that singing is medicine and that singing in a choir can teach us something about how we come together as human beings: in collaboration, peace and harmony.
