On the eve of International Women's Day, we gathered to celebrate what matures slowly and does not fall from the tree right away: ancient knowledge, caring hands, formulas passed down in the dead of night. Syrups and concoctions, remedies and blessings. A living heritage that spans generations and continues to make sense even when everything around us is shaken.
We begin with a lively conversation. At the table will be Lourdes Picareta, forger of images and stories that move; Mariana Dias Coutinho, transmuter of knowledge and arts; and Fátima Sousa, healer and guardian of ancestral practices. Three distinct paths, united by the gesture of caring, transforming, and keeping memory alive.
We will screen the documentary "As Mulheres Criaram a Cerveja" (Women Created Beer), which restores women to their central place in the history of fermentation and the community itself, as the first brewers. Beer was born in kitchens, a female domestic task, in the hands of those who knew how to heal. And by wearing pointed hats for identification in markets, we already know where fame ended up.
So that nothing is missing, we also celebrate the return of Cerveja Mirabolante. Glasses raised without fear of adventure, words crackling, a slight witchcraft hovering. Later, the sound takes over the space and our feet respond. The selection belongs entirely to female voices, led by women at the sound controls. And we let ourselves go, without looking at the clock.
