A full day to explore, move, create, get muddy, follow curiosity — and simply be a child.
What if your child could spend an entire day without screens, classrooms, schedules or pressure to perform?
A day with space to wander.
To climb, build, create and discover.
To notice tracks on the ground, insects under a stone and the changing sounds of the landscape.
To use their hands, move their body, follow an idea and see where it leads.
Wild & Free is about giving children something that has become surprisingly rare: time, space and freedom for real childhood.
At Monte Ventosa, children aged 6–12 spend the day immersed in 140 hectares of wild Alentejo landscape.
There is no rigid programme they have to work through and no expectation to produce a particular result. Instead, the day grows from the landscape, the season, the group and the children's curiosity.
We may explore the land, follow animal tracks, discover plants and ecosystems, build with natural materials, help with small projects on the land, create art, play sensory games, move, tell stories, practise moments of mindfulness — or simply invent something completely different.
Because children don't only learn when somebody teaches them.
They learn when they wonder.
When they try.
When something doesn't work and they try again.
When they use their bodies and senses.
When they cooperate.
When they discover “I can do this myself.”
A day for children who need more LIFE in their learning
Wild & Free can be especially beautiful for homeschooling, worldschooling and unschooling families, but children from all backgrounds are welcome.
The group is intentionally small — maximum 6 children — so there is space for each child to be seen while still having the freedom to explore.

Every child receives the same experience, regardless of the contribution chosen. The higher contribution levels help us keep lower-cost places available for families who need them and support the development of future nature-based children's projects at Monte Ventosa.
