Walking with the river
Guardians of the Mira - Artist Residencies 2025

Organized by
Project Earth
Artist-in-residence Jacira da Conceição and our guests Carolina Pelletier Fontes and Silvia das Fadas will guide us on the first walk of this edition of the Guardians of the Mira Artist Residencies. Together, the three of them will plan a route along one of the banks of the River Mira and explore the relationships between this river, art, cinema and the territory.
Carolina Pelletier Fontes is a cultural manager and curator. With a Master's degree in Curating and Collections from Chelsea College of Arts (London), she has dedicated herself to the production of exhibitions, project management and cultural mediation, particularly in the dialog between Africa and Europe through contemporary art. Her previous experience includes stints at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and Galeria Filomena Soares in Lisbon. She has produced exhibitions in collaboration with institutions such as Galerias Municipais de Lisboa and Hangar - Centro de Investigação Artística, and has published articles on the online platform Contemporânea.
