In May, Monchique will once again host “Vamos à Vila,” an event that, in its 2026 edition, will take place on the 29th, 30th, and 31st. In addition to the traditional fair, one of the concerts set to liven up the town’s streets is that of singer-songwriter Tiago Bettencourt.
According to the municipality, Vamos à Vila “once again becomes a gathering place and celebration, a tribute to local traditions that makes Monchique a place where popular culture, music, arts and crafts, and local knowledge and flavors come together.”
As is now tradition, in addition to the showcase of local flavors and knowledge—featuring traditional sausages and local products—there will be culinary, musical, and artistic attractions, as well as dancing and other performances that promise to bring joy to the town.
The event, with free admission, will take place from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Friday (29), from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday (30), and from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sunday (31). Check out some highlights and, at the end of the text, the full program:

The Monchique newspaper will once again be present at Vamos à Vila and will be welcoming subscribers and the general public at its booth at the event.
