On the fifth "Open Day to the Planet"*, we are once again opening the doors and windows of Casa Novo Bowing - Center for Planetary Relations, in Odemira, to a meeting of tastes, sounds and images that cross cultures, generations and imaginations. A program designed especially for families, which begins in the kitchen, where children and adults cook recipes from around the world side by side, continues with the inventive music of the Novo Bowing Band and ends on the big screen with an animated film about survival in times of climate urgency.
The afternoon of this "Open Day to the Planet" is filled with music, plasticity and intercultural conviviality and invites us to be in community, celebrate diversity and learn to live together beyond our differences.
CASA NOVO BOWING - Center for Planetary Relations is a space of shelter, creation and encounter, open to all, created as part of the "Novo Bowing" project. Based in Odemira, in the former Student Center, it hosts artistic activities that promote dialogue between cultures and the imagination of new ways of living together.

A sweet, shared day where adults and children from different countries get their hands dirty to cook a great intercultural snack together. Sandwiches and wraps invented on the spot, salty and sweet dumplings, colorful salads, fruit kebabs and other delicacies are prepared in a veritable manual factory of flavors.
Among the recipes to be prepared and tasted are gajrela (a traditional and popular dessert from India and South Asia); Brazilian kisses; marble cake; hummus and carrot sandwiches; cucumber and cream cheese with herbs; peanut butter and banana; a rainbow of vegetables and creamy vanilla and strawberry ice cream.
The table comes alive with decorations as delicious as they are beautiful, made up of colors, shapes and everyone's imagination. And the snack is accompanied by the music of the Novo Bowing Band Sextet.

FLOW - DRIFTING
A film by Gints Zilbalodis
For the big screen at Casa Novo Bowing, a stunning animated film that tells us about survival in times of climate emergency. A cat, solitary by nature, sees his home destroyed by a catastrophic flood and finds refuge on a boat inhabited by different species, with whom he will have to collaborate, despite their differences. On this drifting boat, sailing through mystical and flooded landscapes, the animals face together the challenges and dangers of adapting to a new world. A fiction that comes dizzyingly close to reality: the disappearance of the human, water as a transforming avalanche and animals revealing an emotional intelligence capable of creating common ways of life.
