Is the charter elevating Sines to a town written in Portuguese? How do you read a handwritten document that is hundreds of years old? Find out the answers to these and other questions with Sandra Patrício.
If you're a young person over 16 or an adult of any age, you can sign up and, with 11 other palaeography apprentices, discover the mysteries of the handwriting on some of the key documents in the Sines Municipal Archive.
By the end of the course, all students should be able to read the Manueline Charter of 1512 and transcribe the 1668 Rol das Vigias.
