Based on a text by George Tabori, we tell the story of how the author’s mother escaped the concentration camps—with humor, love, and intelligence—while navigating some of the absurdities of authoritarian regimes.

For a month, São Luís is transformed into an open-air art gallery, with storefronts, homes, and everyday spaces turned into exhibition venues. The opening celebration takes place on August 1 and 2, with the opening ceremony at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and a program of performances, music, workshops, and activities for the entire community. An opportunity to discover the village through art, creativity, and the coming together of artists, residents, and visitors. Location: São Luís

Montras 2026—the biggest and coolest festival in São Luís—is coming! It’s this weekend (August 1 and 2), and we’ll be there serving our Smashburgers both days! Whether you’re already missing our Smashburger or haven’t had a chance to try it yet, now’s your chance. Our Smashburger is entirely locally sourced thanks to a special collaboration with the Farrusca association, using Garvonesa beef. Find out more on our social media!)
