Get directionsMediterranean Temporary Ponds (MTPs) are one of the most remarkable and unique freshwater habitats in Europe and are considered a priority habitat for conservation.
In the South West there are unique examples and many of the species they harbor are considered rare and threatened, both at European and global level. However, this unique habitat is also threatened by invasive alien species. Despite all the efforts already made at the Interpretation Center for Mediterranean Temporary Ponds in Southwest Alentejo, it continues to be slowly invaded by beach weeping and Acacias.
This activity aims to maintain the restoration work and improve the conservation status of the pond complex located at the Interpretation Center, as part of the life Charcos project (LIFE12NAT/PT/997).
Accept the invitation and take part in this action on September 13, starting at 9 a.m., at the Interpretation Center of the Mediterranean Temporary Ponds of Southwest Alentejo.
Participants: maximum 25, by registering by September 11, at www.cm-odemira.pt/p/charcos.
