At 7:30 p.m., we’ll be at Largo do Mercado with snacks and conversation.

As part of the Graduate Program in Investigative Journalism at the University of Coimbra, Lena Hertel and Nina van Dijk have spent the last few months conducting an investigation into mega solar power plants in Portugal.

By exploring issues such as deforestation driven by large-scale solar projects, the installation of solar panels in nature reserves, and the legal frameworks that favor large companies in the sector, they seek to critically reflect on the environmental and social impacts of solar energy in Portugal and identify alternative models.

Lena Hertel is a young Portuguese-German woman who grew up in the Alentejo region and has been grappling with climate change and social injustices since childhood.

Nina van Dijk was born in Coimbra, in the land of the Gândaras, but soon moved to the valleys and hills of Odemira, where she discovered journalism while working with a local radio station.

At 9:00 p.m., we’ll begin the film screening.

Synopsis

“Since time immemorial, the Solé family has spent their summers picking peaches in their orchard in Alcarràs, a small town in Spain. But after receiving an eviction notice, this year’s harvest may be their last. New plans for the land call for uprooting the peach trees and installing solar panels, causing a rift within the family, which had been very close until then. For the first time, the Solés face an uncertain future and risk losing more than just their home."

    Rebirthing breathwork

✨ rebirthing breathwork ✨ After a long summer break, I’m so happy to be opening the doors again and reconnecting with our breathwork community at Lazuz, in Lameiros. ❤️ 🌿 Monday, 21st September 10:30am – approx. 1pm 📍 Lazuz, Lameiros This session is an invitation to pause, breathe, and come back home to yourself. Maybe your summer has involved a lot of working, caretaking, travelling, or tending to other people’s needs. Maybe you’re ready to recharge your batteries, reconnect with your own needs and desires, or simply create some space to listen inward. Through the power of your own breath, we can begin to release what has become stuck, reconnect with the body, support a more regulated nervous system and open space for whatever is ready to be felt, explored or released. Breathwork can be a profound journey of coming back to yourself, reconnecting with your heart, your aliveness, your pleasure, your health, your direction and your deeper sense of purpose. Your breath knows where to take you. The session is held in a safe, supportive and trauma-informed container, with space to explore at your own pace. Group places are limited. 💛 Sliding-scale contribution: €15 - supported / low income €30 - regular €45 - supporting To join: 🌐 www.premajulia.com 📩 Or simply send Prem a private message. If you have any questions or would like to check whether breathwork is suitable for you, especially if you have any physical or mental health considerations, please feel free to reach out. I’m so looking forward to breathing, exploring and reconnecting with you again. ❤️ Only love, Prema
