World off-road elite returns to the municipality | Portuguese ambition in the competition | Program with new features and activities open to the public
Between March 16 and 19, Grândola will once again be part of the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal route, a presence that has been maintained since the first edition of the event organized by the Automobile Club of Portugal (acp), with the support of the Municipality.
The bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal's passage through Grândola includes a series of initiatives open to the public, designed to bring the population closer to the competition and provide moments of conviviality around the sport.
On March 16, 17, and 18, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., the Fair and Exhibition Park will host the Fan Zone, a space dedicated to off-road fans where it will be possible to closely follow the atmosphere surrounding the race and enjoy an area dedicated to street food. The bivouac, the technical area of the competition where the teams are concentrated and where vehicle assistance operations are carried out, will also be set up here. Admission is free, and the public is allowed access on March 16, 17, and 18, between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Among the new features of this edition are the sunsets with DJs, which will take place from 6:00 p.m. in the same venue. The program begins with performances by DJ Vasco Rafael and DJ Raise. The following day, March 17, DJ SG Acelera will set the pace for the party, and on the 18th, DJ Jordan and DJ Josef will be in charge of the entertainment, all of whom are from the municipality of Grândola.
On the sporting front, the area adjacent to the Municipal Sports Park will host the prologue of the motorcycle race, scheduled for March 17 at 1:00 p.m. On the same day, there will be an autograph session with the riders at 5:30 p.m., followed by the official start of the race at 6:00 p.m. at the Fair and Exhibition Park. After the ceremony, the cars and motorcycles will parade through the streets of the town center, circling the Jardim 1º de Maio, an unprecedented initiative that will allow the population to closely follow and interact with the teams and machines participating in the competition.
On the 18th, the adrenaline will rise with the ss2 taking place on the grounds adjacent to the Municipal Sports Park, where the two- and four-wheeled machines promise a spectacular show starting at 2:00 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., respectively. After fulfilling its central role in Grândola, the caravan will head to Extremadura, Spain, ending on March 22 in Loulé, but taking with it the indelible mark of the hospitality and unique trails of the Alentejo.
