🌊✨ Banho 29 - A tradition we never forget!
On this Municipal Holiday, Monte Clérigo Beach will once again be the scene of a ritual that spans generations: Banho 29.
On August 29, as summer begins to say goodbye, we repeat the gesture of our ancestors: entering the sea together, believing in the power and blessing of its waters. Tradition has it that this bath is sacred: it washes the body, purifies the soul and brings good luck for the rest of the year.
It's more than a dip, it's a reunion with our roots. It's a celebration of life, the sea and the community, as we feel the cold water embrace us like it did our grandparents, renewing our hopes and memories.
The celebration begins at 10am with a healthy and lively walk, to the sound of the Alfarroba Band, to Monte Clérigo beach. After the swim, there will be a convivial lunch and lots more socializing!
Aljezur Town Hall will be providing buses from each parish.
