»» Seiva Returns to Monchique with Initiatives to Promote the Region

From October 22 to 24, Monchique will host another edition of the Seiva Program, which brings together various organizations and partners in initiatives dedicated to promoting the region’s environmental, natural, and cultural heritage.

Organized by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), the initiative involves the Municipality of Monchique, the Parish Councils of Monchique and Alferce, the Nossa Terra Association, Europe Direct Algarve, the Ciência Viva Centers in Tavira and Lagos, and algar.

The program includes activities aimed at school communities from other municipalities, with the goal of raising awareness of Monchique’s natural, historical, and archaeological heritage.

On October 22, at 9:30 p.m., next to the Alferce cemetery, the “Astronomy in the Fall” event will also take place, open to the entire community, inviting participants to observe the night sky and learn a little more about the universe.
