The Algarve Camerata offers a concert that unites history, emotion and celebration, in a special encounter in the heart of Ourique. The program opens with Heinrich Biber's powerful Battalia a 9, symbolically evoking the famous Battle of Ourique, where the combative spirit and intensity of the sound transport the audience to a universe of tension and triumph. This is followed by Telemann's elegant and luminous Viola Concerto, which reveals the nobility and expressiveness of an instrument so often reserved for a discreet role, but here elevated to protagonist. The vibrant energy returns with Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Violins, in a virtuoso and passionate dialogue, where the Baroque brilliance reaches its splendor.
To close, the instrumental and choral music invites you to an atmosphere of recollection and sharing, with pieces alluding to the Christmas spirit, in a celebration where tradition and spirituality meet in harmony. A concert that intertwines memory, art and festivity, promising to involve both lovers of classical music and all those looking to experience the magic of the season.
The "orikanto" Polyphonic Choir Group from Ourique, under the artistic direction of Prof. António João César, will be the group invited by the Algarve Camerata.
