Stage 2 of the 2026 Volta a Portugal starts in Sines this Friday, August 7, at 1:00 p.m. on Vasco da Gama Avenue.
The peloton will then cross the city, following this route:
📍️ 1:00 p.m.: Start on Avenida Vasco da Gama (in front of the Penedos da Índia Elevator)
⬆️ Continues along Avenida General Humberto Delgado
↗️ Turns right onto Rua Júlio Gomes da Silva
↗️ Takes the exit toward Estrada da Nossa Senhora dos Remédios
⤵️ Turns right onto Rampa do Encalhe
🔄 Enter the roundabout next to the Marina and ↖️ turn left onto the A26-1
↗️ Leaving the city: at the Terminal XXI roundabout, take the 2nd exit toward the N120-1

Vasco da Gama Beach (next to BiblioPraia) | 10:30 a.m. | Free admission The reading mediation team from the Sines Arts Center will be at Vasco da Gama Beach to read traditional oral folktales to children, families, and all beachgoers who want to let themselves be carried away by the rhythm of the words and the waves of imagination.

🎉 International Youth Day | August 12 The Municipality of Sines is celebrating International Youth Day with a diverse program of sports, recreational, and musical activities, taking place along Vasco da Gama Avenue and at Sines Castle. Throughout the day, Vasco da Gama Avenue will host activities as part of the “Sines in Motion” program, which will run all day long. The program also includes the Buggy Experience, an inflatable water attraction, archaeological snorkeling, skating lessons, and a sunset party featuring DJ Miguel Angelo. Starting at 10:00 p.m., Sines Castle will host the evening program, featuring performances by DJs Surraz, l.c, and, starting at 1:00 a.m., Rifox. 📅 August 12 📍 Vasco da Gama Avenue (daytime program) 📍 Sines Castle (nighttime program)

In this performance, the musician and singer invites two more voices from the new generation of fado singers, thus creating a fado show that draws from the essence of Lisbon’s traditional songs and extends into the contemporary landscape of Portuguese music.
