The Orff Orchestra Mini-Concert will take place on March 7, at 5:30 p.m., at the Alvalade Municipal Auditorium.

The Orff Orchestra is a small musical ensemble inspired by the traditional classical orchestra.

However, the musical instruments used here are different. Instead of traditional violins, we have a wide variety of xylophones with very distinct musical "colors" in terms of sound. From the highest to the lowest notes, we have an entire musical structure inspired by the composer Carl Orff. Bringing "classical" music to everyone from childhood.

This format is presented annually with students from the Santiago do Cacém Municipal School of Music.

    Medieval Alvalade 2026 For three days—September 18, 19, and 20—the town of Alvalade “dresses up in full regalia” for what is one of the largest medieval fairs on the Iberian Peninsula.
