Photography Exhibition “With or Without… Smile. Life Is Worth Living!”

From June 5 to July 26, the group photography exhibition “With or Without… Smile. Life is Worth Living!” by the Missão Coragem Association.

This collective photography exhibition emerged as a follow-up to the 2026 Solidarity Agenda, which aimed to raise awareness that the age group affected by breast cancer is getting younger and younger, making prevention very important. Eleven photographers were challenged to participate, and they readily volunteered to photograph 12 people who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. These photographs are the result of those sessions.

    Synopsis: The ACCSSC—Cultural and Social Association of Santiago do Cacém—presents examples of professions that make little sense today: dressmakers, shoemakers, tailors, pavers, and tinsmiths. There are others as well, such as millers, coopers, and telephone operators… But these are skills that must be respected and preserved, not least because we may one day need to revive them. And which professions will be the next to disappear? Which others will be needed in the near future?
