🎨 From May 30 to June 27, the Sines Arts Center will host the exhibition “Escala,” featuring sculptures by João Castro Silva.
The exhibition brings together a collection of sculptures built on relationships of weight, support, and balance, where wooden logs, structures, and human figures create compositions marked by physical tension and interaction with the surrounding space.
More than a fixed measurement, scale emerges here as a relationship between the artwork, the visitor’s body, and the exhibition space.

João Castro Silva is a sculptor and associate professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, where he teaches in the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in Sculpture.
