Courage doesn't always make a lot of noise. Sometimes it’s just opening a door, stepping into an unfamiliar home, trying something for the first time, or sitting down at a table with people from other parts of the world.
On this Open Day for the Planet, Casa Novo Bowing invitesus to wander through its rooms and halls transformed by the energy of Summer Bowing, a week of creation, community, and experimentation that brought together young people from different cultures, languages, and life paths.
There’s a radio show to listen to, used clothes transformed into new possibilities for wearing, worlds of clay to discover, fanzines to leaf through, images from a film created in just one week, sound installations to listen to while lying down, and juices prepared on the spot. Experiences created by young people who open the doors of the House and invite us to see the world through their eyes.
Courage can also be savored. Over the weekend, you’ll learn to prepare Cachupa and Cape Verdean Fish Pastries, and in the late afternoon, dishes, music, and dances are shared to the sound of African Sounds led by Licínio Silva.
Amid stories that unfold, voices that are heard, and encounters that take place, this is a day to discover how courage can be a daily practice of imagination, hospitality, and communal living.
Casa Novo Bowing - Center for Planetary Relations is a space for shelter, creation, and gathering, open to everyone. Created as part of the Novo Bowing project, it is based in Odemira, in the former Student Center, and hosts artistic activities that promote dialogue between cultures and the imagination of new ways of living together.

RR25 - SOUND INSTALLATION
Paula Lourenço’s street wardrobes now lie flat on their sides. The audience lies down to listen to what the clothes have to say.
A skirt, a work shirt, or a jacket hold different stories. Through interviews with residents of Odemira, this sound installation reveals memories, secrets, and fragments of life hidden in the folds of what we wear.
