On September 7 and 8, Odemira will once again celebrate the traditional Festivals in Honor of Our Lady of Mercy, as part of a program that also includes the Municipality Day celebrations.
Two days of celebration, featuring music, culture, entertainment, and tradition, including performances, religious ceremonies, and events as part of the Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival.
On September 8, the Municipal Holiday, the highlight will be the Solemn Session for Municipal Day, followed by the traditional luncheon. In the afternoon, religious celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Mercy will take place, featuring a Solemn Mass, a procession, and an auction in honor of the patron saint.
The celebrations are organized by the Parish of Odemira, with support from the Municipality of Odemira and the Parish Council of São Salvador and Santa Maria.

Duo Além Organized by the Terra Batida Association, in partnership with Caco—the Odemira Municipality Artisans’ Association—this concert-performance is part of the “Criar às Sextas” initiative, bringing sounds from around the world to the streets. Blending the harmony of the accordion with the melody of the trumpet, Nuno Salvado and Nuno Reis present music for dancing and dreaming. From African rhythms to Balkan energy, from the atmosphere of jazz to the rhythm of bossa nova, Duo Além offers a musical experience for a diverse audience. Whether at a window, on a balcony, or on a terrace, residents, passersby, and visitors will be immediately captivated by the duo’s infectious energy or their sweet, melancholic melodies. This musical journey will make a stop at Livraria Mirabolante, and the performance will culminate at Espaço Criar (Travessa do Miradouro, No. 1, Odemira) starting at 6:00 p.m., where the concert will be complemented by creative workshops and local snacks, offering a late afternoon of socializing and cultural celebration.
