Sementes de Dissidência (Seeds of Dissent) is a project by Sílvia das Fadas, in partnership with the Antígona publishing house, which combines art, critical thinking and political memory, paying attention to stories that reveal silent forms of resistance.
The book The Little Communist Who Never Smiled tells the story of Nádia Comaneci, the Romanian gymnast who became a symbol of sporting perfection in a communist regime. Starting from her childhood and the control exercised over her body and image, the book raises questions about discipline, power, propaganda and freedom.
The presentation will feature Vera Mantero, Nádia Torres and Sílvia das Fadas and will be the last event of the year at Mirabolante, closing the program with a conversation between art, the body and politics.
