Amélie, a Belgian child living in Japan, explores life alongside her nanny, Nishio-san. Her third birthday becomes a turning point, marking the beginning of events that will shape both her life and her understanding of the world. Through delicate and contemplative animation, Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes explores the birth of perception, language and imagination, portraying childhood as a fundamental moment of discovery and memory-making. Its poetic and literary dimension brings an additional layer of sensitivity to this film programme, curated by Candela Varas.
